Aandal Kireedam

This traditional golden Aandal Kondai Kireedam is modeled after the iconic side-bun hair ornament (Kondai) worn by Goddess Aandal and female temple deities:

• Distinct Silhouette: It features the signature L-shaped side-slanted bun structure (Aandal Kondai), extending horizontally outward with a ribbed, bulbous dome topped by a small golden finial (Kalasam).

• Surface Engravings:

  • Cross-Hatch Pattern: The cylindrical stem is textured with fine diagonal lattice/cross-hatching that mimics braided hair or fabric weave.

  • Ribbed Bun Dome: The bulbous side bun showcases deep diagonal fluting and repoussé scrollwork, giving it a rich 3D volume.

• Gemstone Accents:

  • Front Medallion: Features an oval-cut ruby at the top, a small central round emerald, and a teardrop-cut ruby set within an embossed golden motif.

  • Base Rim: A square-cut green emerald is embedded directly above the fluted base band.

• Base Band: The bottom collar is detailed with a vertical ribbed pattern, creating a secure rim for mounting onto a deity idol.
